Our first stop is San Blas, a small fishing village of about 12,000 people located between Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan on Mexico's Pacific Coast. Surrounded by rainforests and mangrove wetlands, San Blas is a tropical paradise where you'll have the chance to explore one of the most diverse reptile and bird sanctuaries in the Americas.

From San Blas we'll journey on to Mexcaltitán, midway between Teacapan and San Blas in the heart of Mexico's Marisma Nacional. Mexcaltitán lies in the middle of a Nayarit coastal lagoon where you'll have the chance to discover the exotic birds, alligators and turtles that inhabit the thick mangroves surrounding this man-made island.

Legend has it that Mexcaltitán was once Aztlan, the cradle of the Aztec civilization - and the birthplace of the Mexican people. The town is also known as "the Venice of Mexico," because the summer rains turn the streets into canals. While Mexcaltitán no longer sports the riches of its heyday, it still exerts an allure that is hard to resist.

Next, we'll visit a variety of genuine Mexican villages cloaked in legend and rich in history, giving you the chance to pursue the heart and soul of this bewitching and sometimes perplexing land. This enriching experience ends with a breathtaking 45 minute flight back to Puerto Vallarta. Don't miss this magical adventure - Make your reservations today!
