Discover the Birds´ paradise!

Banderas Bay hosts of different bird species in its varied habitats and ecosystems that range from mountains, tropical forests, rivers, mangroves, creeks and shorelines. . The diversity is so great that we can hoast up to 350 different bird species in this area. That’s almost HALF of all bird species found in the U.S. and Canada combined! These are great birding tours, ALWAYS small groups and guided by one of Vallarta’s top birders.

On an average day, we may observe up to 40 species. Like,  military macaw, citreoline trogon, elegant quail, bat falcon, great kiskadee, San Blas jays, among others.

We have 4 great destinations for birding:

BIRDS OF PARADISE
Introduction to the Birds of the Area Travel south from Puerto Vallarta, we can see “jungle” birds as we climb up the roadway from the village of Mismaloya and Nogalito river.

TROPICAL FOREST BIRDING TOUR
Las Juntas y Los Veranos Departure to Las Juntas y Los veranos on the Sierra Madre, birding through a semideciduos tropical forest. The variety of birds changes from sea level to highest point oak forest. Afterwards we’ll continue to the new botanical garden a nice collection of orchids.

THE SIERRA OF EL TUITO
Mountain and Tropical Birds Departure to El Tuito on the Sierra Madre, birding in an oak and pine forest home of unique endemics.

EL COLORADO (North of the bay)
Departure to el Colorado. Continental Breakfast is served (Pic nic). Birding through a semideciduos tropical forest and we’ll have time to fill our checklist.
