Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's top dive destinations, and Vallarta Adventures offers daily tours to some of the most popular dive sites in Puerto Vallarta, giving both beginners and certified scuba divers the opportunity to discover the diverse abundance of sea life in the warm, clear waters of Banderas Bay and the Mexican Pacific.

         

Non-certified divers can take 1 tank dives at the paradise hideaway of Las Caletas or the Marietas Island Marine Reserve after completing a Resort Course at least one day before the date of their excursion. Certified divers must show their diver certification cards or, if it has been more than 6 months since your last dive, complete a Refresher Course before participating in 2 tank dives at El Morro, the remote island of Corbeteña, or a Morning or Night dive at Los Arcos.

Las Caletas

El Morro

Six miles West of Marietas Islands, on the edge of Banderas Bay, lies El Morro, a series of rock pinnacles extending above the surface of the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. With depths of up to 150 ft, El Morro offers wall diving, caves and a 50 ft tunnel, giving experienced divers the chance to practice more technical diving in a remote location.

Los Arcos Morning Dive

Los Arcos, "The Arches," are a group of granite rock formations with caves that have been sculpted by the ocean over thousands of years. From the main arch, where depths range from 30-60 feet, you'll see angelfish, butterfly fish, damsels, parrot fish, needle fish, puffers, eagle rays, giant mantas and sea turtles.

The waters surrounding Los Arcos National Marine Park are the deepest in the entire bay, and beneath the surface, a shelf takes you to The Devil's Drop. Los Arcos Twilight Dive

One of Mexico's most popular marine reserves, Los Arcos is a cluster of granite islands that perch out of the water in the southern part of Banderas Bay. Corbeteña

Surrounded by the blue waters of the Pacific 40 miles from Puerto Vallarta, this remote island attracts all manner of sea life - and very few scuba divers. A profusion of manta rays, turtles, sharks and dolphins are native to these waters, and huge schools of Jack tuna circle this tiny island in search of food.

Offering certified divers the chance to explore caves, arches and steep walls, Corbeteña is a great dive site with moderate currents and depths of up to 120 feet, with visibility ranging from 60-120 ft. Trips to this incredible dive site are available on Fridays only and limited to small groups of experienced divers - so make your reservations TODAY!

Refresher Courses

Certified divers who have not been diving within the last 12 months must take a refresher course at a resort with one of our dive team at least one day before their dive. As well as practicing confined water exercises you will be reminded of equipment set-up, safety, and technical points to ensure that you get the very most out of your diving adventures in Puerto Vallarta.

PADI Scuba Diver Certification

Have you been thinking about becoming a certified diver, but don't have much time during your vacations? Vallarta Adventure offers a fast and easy PADI Scuba Diver program just for you! The PADI Scuba Diver program is a 2-day course that will teach you the fundamentals of scuba diving, dive equipment and scuba techniques. The PADI Scuba Diver course is the first step in obtaining your PADI Open Water Diver certification. After completing pool dives, attending knowledge development sessions and making two open water dives, you will be able to dive all over the world under the direct supervision of a dive professional. Course includes all study materials, pool and class lessons, 2 open water dives and PADI Scuba Diver certification.

    The Fine Print...
  • Divers must hold a valid certification card to participate in our diving programs. Certified divers who have not dived in the past 6 months will be required to take a scuba refresher course.
  • Certified divers are automatically entitled to participate in 2 tank dives up to a maximum depth of 60 ft.
  • Advanced divers can participate in 2 tank dives up to a maximum depth of 120 ft.
  • Non-certified divers can participate in 1-tank dives with a maximum depth of 40 ft at Las Marietas or at Las Caletas after completing a Vallarta Adventures Discover Scuba pool lesson before the day of their dive.
  • Supervision is normally 1 Dive master to 3 diver pairs using the buddy system.
  • Diving within 24 hours of your flight home is not recommended.
  • An Acknowledgement of Risk will need to be signed before participating in any of our dive programs.
